Haverhill man faces child rape charges

HAVERHILL — A city man was arrested and charged with two counts of rape of a child.

Jeffrey Sturk Jr., 28, of 178 Presidential Drive in the city's Bradford section, was arrested about 6:28 p.m. Thursday and charged with two counts of rape of a child, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and two counts of open and gross lewdness.

"He was arrested at the police station following an investigation," Detective Capt. Alan Ratte said yesterday.

Ratte refused further comment on the case.
